Who doesn’t love Halloween? The delicious candy, scary costumes, decorating your house with spooky spider webs. The one thing that people love the most is haunted houses! Haunted attractions are the most popular thing that high school students do during the Halloween season with their friends. Haunted houses are usually open late on weekends and make hundreds of dollars a day.
Have your nightmare come true at everybody’s favorite haunted place to go: Land of Illusion located in Middletown, Ohio! There are multiple things to do in one night. Can you handle it?
There are four haunted houses at Land of Illusion: Dr.Psycho’s Haunted Estate, Temple of Terror, Voodoo Bayou Shanty, and everybody’s worst nightmare in 2016: Killer Clowns! General admission is $35.99, or you can get a Fastpass for $51.99.
Lock and load up for an evening killing zombies at Land of Illusion’s Zombie Sniper Patrol. You have to have a separate ticket to go through this thrilling hunt for the max time of 15 minutes for $19.99. They are not open on Sundays.
Got ten dollars in your pocket? Walk on over to the demon drop free fall. Get your harness on and climb up the poll. Then, once you get to the top don’t look down! Jump and stay calm there may or may not be clowns at the bottom. Land of Illusion is open Fridays and Saturdays 8 p.m.- 2 a.m. and Sundays 8 p.m. -11:30 p.m.
Get dragged down eight feet underground into Lewisburg’s scariest haunted cave. The gates open at 7 p.m. and the last victims are in line by midnight. According to the Lewisburg Haunted Cave website, They are open Friday and Saturdays evenings only– the ghouls need their ugly sleep. They also have a wagon ride that isn’t scary at all. Hop on the ride and learn about the wonderful history about the haunted cave. then enjoy ride the Ohio’s largest brown bat habitat. The wagon ride is $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children under the age of 12. The haunted cave tickets are $17.00 for adults and $8.00 for children. Senior Chris Maxwell said “I go here every year. I love the decorations.”
You can spend the day with your friends but when the sun goes down you better run! Ride roller coasters, play games, and chow down on some food before the monsters come out! Halloween Haunt at Kings Island is the perfect place to have a ton of fun and poop your pants at the same time! Sophomore at WCHS Leann Smith said “I really loved all the haunted houses they have, and how the line area going to the rides are spooky with the fog machines.” According to Kings Island’s website a Haunt Friday all inclusive ticket is $99.99 so get yours now. If you don’t want to pay that much, then get an admission and Fright Lane ticket for $65.99 or an admission and Fright Feast ticket for $40.99.
