On Tuesday, October 10th, WCHS had a fall choir concert. Symphonic choir and Chamber choir, Vocal Expressions, and Mutiny all performed all of their music pieces and symphonic and chamber then performed 2 combined pieces. Meanwhile Symphonic had two songs to sing on their own and Chamber had two songs on their own as well. One of the combined pieces was titled Lead with Love, which the entire choir sang acappella. This song also featured soloists Imani Ivery, Amarion McGowan, and Bryson Barnes. The second shared piece was a medley from the up-coming spring musical Into The Woods. The concert was a great success, and all of the choirs did a splendid job. We’re proud of you, Pirate choirs!
Symphonic choir is a choir that is open to all students. Chamber choir and Honors Chamber choir, however, require an audition in order to become a member. Vocal Expressions (V.E.) is a show showchoir that performs their songs and dances throughout the year. This year they are doing Icons which means they are currently performing songs from anywhere between Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop The Feelin’ to Treasure By Bruno Mars. V.E. is an audition based group that holds auditions toward the end of the school year. Mutiny is an a cappella group that consists of around 8-10 people who sing songs just with their voices without the addition of background tracks. This year there are currently 8 members: Aiden West, Mason Aydelott, Bryson Barnes, Lucy Bird, Kassidy Connor, Josiah Hoang, Makenna McCune, and Hayley Schuster. Mutiny currently has two pieces of music: the WCHS Alma Mater and Good time by Owl City Featuring Carly Rae Jepsen. If you’re interested in becoming a part of any of these groups see Brian Coleman in room 30 down by the band room.
