Winter Dance Approaches… Eventually

Autumn Luthman and

We will be having a WCHS winter dance again this year! Although the date is not set yet, we know the prospecting theme. It may be glow in the dark.

Sophomore class president Noah Weber is going to the dance, but doesn’t know what the scene will be because he didn’t go last year due to prior engagements. The dance will be held in the small gym again this year, there will not enough people attending for it to be in the big gym.

Student council will not be holding another dance this year, this will be the last dance for all grades. The only other dance will be prom, which you will need to be a junior, senior or asked by someone in one of these grades.

Teacher chaperones are still up for debate, and the date and price for the tickets are still undecided. Students say that they hope the music for this dance is better than the music that was at homecoming.

Weber says he and student council think school dances are great “It shows the student body we are doing things and trying to make our school more enjoyable.”

Sophomore students Abby Medcalf, Hannah Taulbee, and Caleb Beck all said they will not be going to the dance this year, nor did they go last year. Taulbee said her favorite part of school dances is “eating food before the dance.” Medcalf also replied with “food.” Beck said his favorite part is the after parties. All three of them agreed that the thing that should be changed is the music. Taulbee and Medcalf both think the small gym is too small for the dance to be held in.
