German students represent WCHS well at UC German Day

German students attended the University of Cincinnati’s annual German Day on Friday, April 13 to showcase their accomplishments with the German language. Every year, the university invites “area high school students to further their language skills and cultural knowledge in an enriching environment of friendly competition among fellow German enthusiasts.” The Pirates showed up with ten students out of around 250 students. Sophomore Anneliese Blevins earned first place in the poetry recitation category and senior Sophie Massie earned a second place award in level 3/advanced Reading.

Junior Paige Johnson McGill and senior Abigail Allain also executed noteable performances in poetry recitation.
