at this year.

Mrs. Haffner needs help with organizing and planning the pep assemblies. She said they are always so chaotic because she always has to plan them last minute. “There is not enough time to plan them,” she said, “and it always falls on the cheerleaders and/or myself.”

Mrs. Haffner agrees that the pep assemblies are great for inducing pride in school sports, and for school spirit, but she thinks it would be beneficial to have a set structure for the pep assemblies and to have the cheerleaders, band and maybe spirit club work together to plan them.

Schaffer thinks we should have pep assemblies for winter and spring sports because they keep students looking forward to other sports, instead of just football. Schaffer said everyone deserves to be recognized and cheered on by their peers.

Schaffer would like to add more activities, like the games during the Homecoming pep assembly, so more students have an opportunity to participate and be involved in them. He thinks pep assemblies have a lot of influence on student culture because they get everyone excited.

Schaffer also thinks that having the cheerleaders perform more will get people more excited as well. He said, “The cheerleaders always get everyone hyped up with the band dances, and cheers.”
