The school spirit is gone at WCHS. Too many times, I have heard students talk negatively about West Carrollton, but during pep rallies, students are screaming and jumping out of their seats with excitement. Why isn’t it always like that at games?
The student sections used to be filled with spirit. Students were screaming while filling the stands to the point that there were hardly any seats left empty!! Over the years, students have been losing their spirit. The student section has experienced a drought and fewer fans are showing up to the games. If the players don’t have any fans to cheer for them, how will they have any motivation or momentum to play and win any games? It’s a fact that athletes play harder and become more encouraged when there are more students and fans supporting them in the stands.
Although the football team took an unfortunate loss last Friday vs. Sidney, the student section was by far the best we’ve had all year. We hope the support continues as West Carrollton has an away game this Friday against Stebbins and we hope to see the stands filled in white as the theme is white out. The volleyball team is also coming off a big win against Fairborn last game and they have a double hitter tomorrow, September 21st against Piqua at 6:00 pm, so don’t be lame & make sure to come out to the games and support your Pirate athletes!
